Non-Stop Action & Adventure

Friday, July 31, 2026

The action in Revenge Interrupted starts from the get-go, pulling the reader into Renault Jamison’s bewilderment and horror as he’s arrested while in Greece on a jaunt with friends before his wedding.

His situation goes downhill at the speed of light when he’s sent to prison for a year after being framed for a cyberattack.

You know that saying about keeping your friends close but your enemies closer? That’s the worst part of his harrowing experience because Renault doesn’t know who is friend or foe.

Rashaan does a good job of keeping the reader guessing as to who is on the level and who isn’t, and it was good to see the bad guys get theirs.

I read the bulk of the novel in two days and then raced through to the end when I had the chance to sit with it again. The ending was satisfactory in terms of those who got their comeuppance, but I see the setup for another story because there are still some folks Renault has to deal with who didn’t get theirs in this novel.

If non-stop action and suspense are your thing, plus romance, treat yourself to a copy of Revenge Interrupted.

Many thanks to Black Odyssey Media for an ARC.

Exciting News & An Update

Tuesday, April 11, 2023

Sometimes, it takes external factors to bring us back to our roots. The other day, I was invited to be part of an interview series on self-publishing by the Caribbean Books Foundation. Of course, I was delighted to be part of that. If you’re interested in hearing what I had to say, the interview is here.

Anyway, I digress. The introduction said that I’d been on the writing scene since 2004. I was like, where did they get that from? See, because my first book was published in 2010, it seems I discarded the apprenticeship period during which I was writing craft articles and having short stories published through the literary pages of a local paper.

In looking at my website today, I realized that must have been where they culled that information. Silly me. This is a sort of wake-up call and a reminder that nothing else works if we don’t. I’m not where I want to be on this journey, but I’m much farther along than when I started.

I’m grateful for all the good breaks along the way and last year, I came into another one. I signed a contract with Black Odyssey Media, an imprint of Kensington Publishing, and here’s what’s on the agenda for November, 2023.

You don’t want to miss this novel when it is released, so be sure to pre-order you copy of this thriller today! I’m grateful for you support. Here are the cover and blurb.

A mother's quest for justice turns into a race against time to stop insidious murders that mysteriously begin populating throughout the city. Fans of Lisa Jewell and Ruth Ware will be enthralled by this emotionally chilling thriller!

The need to right a wrong against an innocent victim triggers a hailstorm of revenge!

In less than twenty-four hours—before Alexia Leighton is scheduled to return to Miami from spring break in Jamaica—a group of friends betrays her in a grisly assault that stops a heartbeat away from murder. The seventeen-year-old prays for the mercy of death. She survives.

While on the road to recovery, Alexia's attackers become victims of mysterious acts of violence, leaving authorities confounded and racing against time to prevent another deadly attack. Concern looms, as the perpetrator has proven to be two steps ahead of them at every turn.

When the attention swings to Alexia's mother, a cyber-security expert, the family closes ranks. Geneva Leighton must quickly eliminate herself as a suspect, but not without handing down more punishment.

The offenders fear for their own safety and the secrets that plague them. Can they trust the police to find the killer before someone else dies, or has their fate been sealed—leaving them with no place to run, and no place to hide . . .
